I’m thinking of my Romeo

I’m scattered and uninspired to
words, because I’m ambivalent
and uncertain about you, you
my beloved brother in my heart.
Just as identical twins I can feel
how your thoughts embrace me
now in this very moment. Yet, it
would be easier to love siblings
if they just were not siblings! It’s
not distance or differences that
drives us apart, it’s similarities
and the closeness between us.
In another time and another life
we would have been brother and
sister, not two strangers in love.
I don’t know what to do with you.
