Lost heart

lady_dog-2I knew right, but I made it wrong.
You knew wrong but made what
was right, now you’re gone. You
said “love” and you said “forever”
but it was just words you spread
around like lost leaves in a wind.
I’d tell you “sorry” if only I could,
but you gone just the walls hear.
I’m left to be the one who erred.
I lost my heart but I survive, yet
I never want to fall in love again.
